COOKIES POLICY
Information in compliance with the regulations on information society services and protection of personal data
What are cookies and what do we use them for?
Cookies are files that are downloaded to the user’s computer/smartphone/tablet when they access certain websites.
Cookies allow certain data to be stored on the user’s device or on its browsing. This data is updated and retrieved by the person responsible for its installation for different purposes, such as, for example, obtaining information about the browsing habits of the user or their computer, seeing which pages have been visited, the connection time, the city to which the IP address from which it is accessed is assigned, etc. the number of new users, the frequency and recurrence of visits, the time of visit, the browser or the operator or type of terminal from which the visit is made, analysing the operation of a page, detecting technical problems, etc. Also, depending on the information they contain and the way in which the terminal is used, they are used to recognize the user.
In addition, there are other mechanisms and technologies to store this type of information. This website does not use pixel tracking beacons, nor fingerprinting techniques.
What information does a cookie store?
The cookies we use do not collect special categories of personal data (sensitive data). The data they store is of a technical nature, personal preferences, personalization of content, etc.
What type of cookies are there?
Cookies are classified into three categories: according to who manages the computer or domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data; depending on the period of time in which they remain active on the terminal equipment; and according to the purpose for which the data obtained is processed.
Depending on the origin, cookies are classified as:
- First-party cookies: these are those that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
- Third-party cookies: these are those that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through cookies.
Based on their duration, cookies can be:
- Session cookies: these are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information that is only of interest to the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion and disappear at the end of the session.
- Persistent cookies: these are those in which the data is still stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the person responsible for the cookie, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
According to their purpose, cookies are classified as:
- Technical cookies: these are those that allow the user to navigate through a website and use the different options or services that exist on it, including those that the publisher uses to allow the management and operation of the website and enable its functions and services (identify the session, access restricted access parts, etc.). remember the elements that make up an order, carry out the purchase process of an order, manage payment, etc.).
- Preference or personalization cookies: these are those that allow information to be remembered so that the user can access the service with certain characteristics that may differentiate their experience from that of other users (language, number of results to be displayed when the user performs a search, region from which they access the service, etc.).
- Analysis or measurement cookies: these are those that allow the person responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of users of the websites to which they are linked, including the quantification of the impacts of advertisements.
- Behavioural advertising cookies: these are those that store information on user behaviour obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on this.
Why is user consent important?
In accordance with the Law on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, WOONIVERS may install cookies on the user’s terminal provided that the user has given their consent after being provided with clear and complete information on their use. The purpose of this policy is to provide such information in a way that is useful to the user.
In accordance with the recommendations of the Spanish Data Protection Agency, WOONIVERS will renew the consent given by users for the use of cookies at least every two years.
However, it should be noted that not all cookies are considered equally from a legal point of view.
Some cookies, because they are not considered intrusive and are necessary for browsing, are exempt from the obligation to be informed. These are cookies that allow communication between the user’s computer and the network, as well as those that strictly provide a service expressly requested by the user, such as:
- User Input Cookies.
- Authentication or user identification cookies (session only).
- User Security Cookies.
